Why is it so inexpensive? Does that mean poor service?

By running using the right sized equipment for the job, scheduling jobs in a geographic location together and efficient methods we are able to save you money.

Is there a contract?

There is no contract with us. Your service continues from season to season unless you tell us you wish to cancel service. There is however a 4 cut minimum. Service canceled before the 4 cut minimum will be subject to a $30 cancellation fee. We reserve the right to refuse service to any property if need be.

What if Iíd like to skip a cut?

You may skip up to 2 times per season by giving us 24 hours notice. We do not offer non-weekly clients the option to skip a cutting. If you fail to notify us by 12pm one business day before your scheduled service you will be serviced and charged accordingly.

What if I get my lawn fertilized?

If you are a client who gets their lawn fertilized, we require you to sign up for our weekly service due to how quickly your grass will grow. If you are already a weekly client and your lawn is growing so quickly that it needs to be cut more then once a week, we will let you know. We reserve the right to cancel your service if your lawn becomes out of control due to fertilizing.

What if I use a lawn fertilizer company?

You must let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled service in order that we can reschedule your service. If you are already a using Green Thumbs Lawn and Landscaping fertilizing is already taken care of.

How do I cancel service?

A simple phone call or E-mail to us by 12pm the business day before your next service or you service will be preformed and you will be charged accordingly. If you have not fulfilled your 4 cut minimum requirement you will be charged a cancellation fee of $30.

When will your charges appear on my credit/debit card?

Credit and debit cards are always billed the day of service.

During the mowing season how many times will you mow?

Mowing begins approximately the last week of March and will continue until the first week of November. Customers who are on the weekly schedule will have their lawns cut approximately 32 times and bi-weekly customers approximately 16 times.

Will you show up with a giant tractor to cut my lawn?

Green Thumbs Lawn and Landscaping uses commercial edging equipment, weed eaters and backpack blowers. For mowing your lawn we use the appropriate size mower for the size your lawn, an example would be for 10,000 sq foot lawns we would use a 32" or 36" walk behind mower. You will never see a large riding mower on any of our customerís smaller lawns.

How high will my lawn be cut?

All lawns are cut at 2.5"-3", depending on when we start your service. During summer months we may raise our heights 1/2" at our discretion. We do not adjust the cutting height of our equipment between each property. Mowing heights are adjusted using power tools therefore it is impossible to adjust them in the field.

What hours do you mow?

Crews begin mowing at 7am and finish by dusk. We schedule arrive approximately the same time each week unless new customers are added to your route.

What if itís raining?

If itís torrential down pour, we will reschedule your service to the next work day. If there is a light rain, we will mow. Thatís one of the reasons why we use walk behind mowers. We wish to beautify your lawn not create an eyesore.

What other services do you provide?

Yes we provide full landscape services as well as hardscape insulations and snow plowing for all our clients.

What happens in the event of damage?

Every effort is made to avoid damage to your property. Should damage occur, simply call or send us an email describing the problem and we will take care of it. When calling in damage, we ask that you treat our staff courteously, accidents happen and the office staff didnít cause the damage, but they are there to help.

I lock my gate how do you handle that?

If you a gate your lawn area, Please use a combination lock and provide us with the combination. Should we arrive and cannot access a gated area, we will cut what we can but you will be charged full price.

I have a dog or pet, what must I do?

We all love pets but, they will most likely not enjoy our mowers or having strangers in their yard. Please keep your pet inside on mowing day. For the safety of our employees and your pet we will not mow in an area where a pet is present. We also ask that you clean up after your pets; we do not expect our employees to mow areas that are full of "doggy droppings".

What if it looks like no one mowed?

Call us before 8am the next day after your service and we will take care of it. If for some reason we were unable to mow it, it will be done. Phone calls received after 8 am will have to be scheduled for the following day. If it was done, we will provide you with the time the crew was there. A team supervisor will also be sent out to inspect the lawn to make sure it was mowed, before a crew will be sent back. Also our crews put out flags on a weekly basis to "mark" that the lawn was mowed, just look for a flag to see if we were there. However keep in mind that flags are sometimes removed by children.

Can you accommodate a special occasion?

We cannot change schedules for special occasions, however if you are a weekly customer you can skip your mowing for that week with 24 hours notice. If we have another crew that will be in your area on a different day, we may be able to accommodate your need and reschedule. Just call or email us to find out.

Do you rake or vacuum leaves?

We do not rake or vacuum leaves during mowing season. If your lawn is covered with leaves we will mow, mulch and disperse them the best we can with the mower during our regular mowing. We do offer leaf services and will send out information regarding our leaf service to all customers in September.

Is bagging available?

If your lawn is growing so quickly that we have to bag it every week, we will ask you to switch your service to twice weekly until it slows down. If necessary we reserve the right to cancel service because of this. Our standard service does not include bagging lawns however we do offer bagging at an additional charge. Also please note that with our new mowers bagging may not be necessary if it was in the past.

Can weekly and bi-weekly service be switched?

You can switch from bi-weekly to weekly, but not from weekly to bi-weekly except during the dry spells during the summer.

Do you edge flower beds?

No, we will only edge concrete walks.
